Using Putty in tournaments

Know when GPS and AI advice are allowed under local rules.

Can I use Putty in a tournament?

Casual rounds and many club events allow golf GPS apps. Official competitions may restrict distance-measuring devices or advice tools under USGA / local rules.

Before you play

  • Ask the committee or check the notice sheet.
  • If DMDs are allowed but advice is not, avoid AI strategy prompts and AR guidance during the stipulated round.
  • When in doubt, use Putty only for scoring after the hole, or leave Premium tools off.

Putty does not replace the Rules of Golf. Follow the event’s posted policy.
